Dream about my father.
Assalamu alaykum Mufti Saheb.
My Father just recently passed away a week ago and last night i had a dream:
“me & my family were all outside the house eating and sitting while my father was sitting left side to my corner, he was wearing a “Songkok” (cap worn by muslims in south asia) and then Jibril (A.S) told him that he’s gonna pass away soon, my father just sat silently, his eyes became red due to tears while i was crying and sobbing while eating upon hearing the news and in front of me was the Map of Makkah and in that map, Makkah was surrounded by water”
Kindly interpret this dream of mine Mufti Saheb, im still devastated by the death of my beloved father he was a good muslim who help saved many lives (muslims and non muslims) and he introduced to me & my sibling Islam, Salah and Fasting which we now grew up practising nonstop. Kindly pray to Allah for my beloved father’s maghfarat and his entrance to Jannatul firdaus.
Jazakallah khair

Al Jawāb Bi’ounillāh Wa’Alayhi at Tuklān
Death is an irrefutable fact we can’t deny. Time and again, we lose ourselves in this transient world thinking that we are going to live here forever. As a result, Allāh reminds us and shows us signs with the loss of a loved one to show that everything in this world is just temporary.
Losing a loved one is undeniably a grief-stricken and devastating moment, especially for the family and close friends. Although according to Qur’an 2:156, that a soul belongs to Allāh and will return to Him in time, still it is a painful moment seeing our loved one passed away. Only those people who have experienced it can truly know the depth of pain it brings when it strikes. It hurts deep down in the core that sometimes you feel numb with emotion.
On the other hand the Prophet Alayhis Salām said that death is a gift for a believer. And if one awaits in desire to meet his lord, Allāh is desirous to meet him (also), and if he is not ambitious to meet his lord, Allāh is not ambitious in meeting him. (Al Mu’jamul Kabir; Refer: Targhib, Vl 4 Page 335 and Majma’uz Zawaid, Vl 2 Page 320 & Sahīh Bukhāri and Muslim)
What can be done to ease your pain is
1- Duā (supplication).
2- Sabrun Jameel (Beautiful patience).
3- Don’t dwell in isolation.
4- Forgive the decease if ever you had odd episodes.
5- Sadaqah
6- Occupy yourself
7- Reflection
Your Marhoom father (May Almighty fills his grave with light and breeze of paradise) had been an example for you, in promoting Allāh consciousness within you.
The dreaming of Jibrāil Alayhis Salām and Makkah is great sign of blessing. Keep faith your father is enjoying the shade of mercy from Almighty Allāh.
Allāh Almighty knows best.
